Study Spanish and Journalism as Oral History in Spain this summer

This University of Texas at Austin program aims to significantly improve your knowledge of the Spanish language, including your ability to speak correctly and effectively outside the classroom and to integrate you as much as possible into the local culture. Classes are held on the campus of the Universidad de Cádiz. The Oral History as Journalism- Spain course will be taught in English by UT journalism professor Maggie Rivas-Rodriguez. The Oral History as Journalism- Spain course is taught by professor Maggie Rivas-Rodríguez, whose teaching and research interests include the intersection of oral history and journalism, as well as U.S. Latinos and the news media, both as producers of news and as consumers. Professor Rivas-Rodriguez leads the U.S. Latino and Latina World War II Oral History Project.

Information Sessions:
A special information session on this program will be offered in the College of Communication on Monday, November 5, from 4 to 5 p.m. in CMA 5.160.
Additional information sessions will be offered by the CGEO, that focus on summer programs in Spain, including the Journalism as Oral History option in Cadiz. Students who attend any of these sessions will be cleared for access to the online application.
