The 32nd Annual ILASSA Student Conference on Latin America Kicks off this Thursday

The 32nd Annual ILASSA Student Conference on Latin America kicks off this Thursday, February 2, at the Student Activities Center.  Students from throughout the US and Latin America come together during this event to present their research on topics such as immigration, violence, art, and more. The conference kicks off on Thursday Feb. 2nd and goes through Feb. 4th.

Opening plenary: Miguel Pereira

Where: Black Box Theater, Student Activities Center, 2nd Floor
Screening of: Sangre en el plomo and Encuentro en el sal (Films presented in Spanish)

Director, writer, and producer Miguel Pereira will discuss the theme of social justice especially as it relates to the environment, a topic present in his documentaries. He currently serves as Secretary of Culture and Tourism in San Salvador de Jujuy, Argentina.
