May 8: Fair Trade Film Festival at Alamo Drafthouse

Saturday, May 8, noon – 9 pm
Location: Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar.
Austin Fair Trade Town and Ten Thousand Villages will host a day of films for World Fair Trade day. Each film will be followed by a panel discussion and questions from the audience.
The films will be: “Fair Trade Coffee Production in the Monteverde Cloud Forest”, “Buyer Be Fair: The Promise of Product Certification”, “Maquilapolis [city of factories]”, and “The Price of Sugar”. Panelists include Michael Conroy, chairman of Transfair USA, Josefina Castillo, American Friends Service Committee; and Robert Jensen, UT journalism professor.
