S.A. key to future of Hispanic broadcasting, experts say

Border Media Partners founder and former president Tom Castro says San Antonio has become a very attractive market to those who understand and appreciate the importance of its diversity.
That’s why some industry experts now believe the Alamo City will be an increasingly important player as broadcasters, multi-channel television distributors and advertisers look to try and tap into an increasingly powerful Hispanic audience.
In its new report, “Economics of Hispanic TV & Radio in the U.S.,” Monterey, Calif.-based research firm SNL Kagan notes that — unlike the slowing English language media — its Hispanic counterpart is experiencing a real growth phase that has not gone unnoticed by the broadcasters, distributors and advertisers.
