F.I.R.M.E. Productions and the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) Austin Chapter are proud to announce a one-day film festival that unites the power of film with the power of mobilized youth in forming an inspiring collaboration that will be felt throughout the United States on May 26, 2007.
Centered in Thermal and founded in the Eastern Coachella Valley (ECV) of southern California, Campeciné: El Ciné Campesino Film Festival arises from one of the largest and most historic migrant farm worker communities in the United States. Campecine has taken the inspiration gained from the farms and solicited stories of struggle and reality from all youth so that we may reflect on the similarities and uniqueness that individual communities are facing nationwide. Our collective vision is to raise consciousness, mobilize communities, and organize all youth to have their voices heard. Please join us on May 26, 2007 at Copa Bar & Grill to witness the Austin launch of a film festival with a new perspective.
