Purpose of position
Responsible for tasks supporting communication, publicity, promotions, and/or public relations required to market, promote and publicize University of Texas at Austin International Education programs, activities, information and events.
Essential functions
Create, edit, publish and maintain online and printed content including web pages, blogs, brochures, flyers, posters, magazines, newsletters, etc. Design, code and maintain web pages that incorporate text, graphics, photos, blogs, video, music, etc. Evaluate quality, accuracy, completeness, usability and effectiveness of print and web materials for student,faculty and parent audiences; suggest, revise, update and maintain materials. Develop, organize and implement promotional campaigns including events such as fairs, info sessions, outreach activities, panels, etc. Establish and maintain cross-functional collaborations with departments, groups and organizations to promote C-GEO programs to student, faculty and staff audiences. Communicate issues of importance to colleagues. Seek and offer assistance when needed. Perform other duties as assigned
Required qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, advertising, marketing or other relevant field. Strong technical expertise in website design, maintenance and interactivity. Two years of experience developing and implementing promotion, electronic media production, and print production, Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred qualifications
More than one year of experience in one of the above fields. Macintosh computer background and experience. Skilled in Quark, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, CSS/HTML, Flash and Video web design, MS Office suite and other software programs. Knowledge of Section 508 web accessible standards. International Study experience. UT work experience.
