U.S. Latinos complain to public broadcasters about their omission in WWII documentary

(The Associated Press/International Herald Tribune)–March 30, 2007.
Hispanic groups unhappy with a coming documentary by acclaimed filmmaker Ken Burns about World War II are stepping up pressure on public television because the series omits mention of the role Latinos played in the war.
The latest group to take the grievance to the Public Broadcasting Service is the American GI Forum, a Hispanic veterans’ group that has waged numerous civil rights battles for Hispanics and Hispanic veterans.
