NALIP Latino Writer’s Lab Applications Open

The Latino Writers Lab™ is a unique program for NALIP members who aspire to work as professional screenwriters, or who desire to develop a strong, viable screenplay for production or sale. It includes skills development by professional instructors, direct mentoring of your work-in-progress by writer/mentors, and professional lunches on legal, guild and industry information. Only 12 – 15 writers will be selected to participate in this 10-day intensive workshop.
The first five-day seminar will be conducted in New York City May 2 – 6, 2007, beginning Wednesday evening with an orientation and screening. The second five-day Fall seminar will be held in Santa Monica, CA, in mid-September. In its fifth year, the Latino Writers Lab offers a new opportunity. You are now able to submit your story/script if it is written in Spanish! You must be fluent in English for all morning sessions, screenings and professional lunches with instructors and executives. Individual projects written in Spanish will also be analyzed and mentored by Spanish speaking professionals!
ONLY 4 Hotel scholarships will be available in each location: submit a one page essay explaining why you need this housing assistance, and acknowledge your commitment to participate as a volunteer in future NALIP programs. Special NALIP hotel rates available for all LWL out-of-town writers.
